No Frights, Just Fun: 10 Movies for a Feel-Good Halloween

Date:

Who says Halloween has to be scary? If you’re looking for a movie night that’s more about “magic” than “monsters,” this is the list for you. We’re skipping the slashers for some lighter, warmer films.
Here are 10 non-scary movies to stream tonight, perfect for a cozy night in.
Let’s start with a classic: Hocus Pocus (1993). Three resurrected witches (Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker) cause delightful chaos in Salem. It’s enchanting fun.
For a dose of dark comedy, The Addams Family (1991) is a must. They’re creepy, kooky, and charming—a great way to get back to the family’s roots.
If you’re watching with kids, Hotel Transylvania (2012) is a surefire hit. Dracula’s monster resort is full of laughs and surprisingly sweet moments.
For a heartwarming ghost story, Casper (1995) is a beautiful 90s tale about friendship and acceptance.
Why not start Christmas early? Home Alone (1990) isn’t scary, but Kevin’s battle with two robbers is hilarious.
This one’s for the “girly pops”: The Twilight Saga (2008). Cozy up with Edward Cullen for a nostalgic, romantic Halloween.
For a family night in, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules (2011) is a fun pick, especially if it’s too cold to go out.
Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice (1998) is the perfect blend of macabre and hilarious, thanks to Michael Keaton’s iconic performance.
Another Tim Burton classic, Coraline (2009), is a visually stunning, eerie fairy tale that remains family-friendly.
Finally, Goosebumps (2015) is a “canon event” for millennials and Gen X, bringing R.L. Stine’s books to life.
