Oscars 2026: Nominations Honor “Sinners” and “One Battle After Another” Across Categories

Date:

Lewis Pullman and Danielle Brooks presented the 98th Academy Awards nominations this evening, honoring exceptional cinematic achievements. Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners” and Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another” received the most comprehensive recognition.
The nominations reflected the Academy’s appreciation for both films’ artistic excellence. “Sinners” earned acknowledgment in directing, cinematography, production design, costume design, sound design, and multiple acting categories. Michael B. Jordan’s leading performance and supporting work from Delroy Lindo and Wunmi Mosaku received particular recognition.
“One Battle After Another” demonstrated similar strength with nominations across creative and technical categories. Anderson’s direction and the film’s adapted screenplay earned recognition, while performances from an impressive ensemble cast also secured nominations. The film’s Golden Globes success clearly influenced Academy voters.
Beyond these frontrunners, the nomination landscape included diverse achievements. Timothée Chalamet earned recognition for “Marty Supreme,” while films like “Hamnet” and “Sentimental Value” also received multiple nominations. Unfortunately, Neeraj Ghaywan’s “Homebound” was completely shut out despite its critical acclaim.
Mark your calendars for March 15, when the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles hosts the 98th Academy Awards. The ceremony will air at 7 p.m. ET on ABC, bringing the awards season to its dramatic conclusion.
