As modern diets contribute to a global rise in this condition, the expert’s guidance offers a clear and concise roadmap for protecting your liver through conscious food choices.
First on this list are sugary beverages. The doctor warns that sodas and fruit juices are particularly insidious, delivering a concentrated blast of sugar that the liver cannot handle efficiently. This sugar, especially high-fructose corn syrup, gets converted directly into fat, which is then stored in the liver. This process is a primary driver of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and can lead to serious health complications over time.
Second, the expert urges the public to avoid deep-fried foods. The high heat and unhealthy oils used in deep frying create harmful trans fats and increase saturated fat content, both of which are detrimental to liver health.
