Spies & Gritty Crime: Why You Need to See ‘Black Bag’ and ‘Havoc’

Date:

For fans of thrillers rooted in the criminal underworld and the shadowy world of espionage, two films on Netflix and Prime Video stand out. They feature A-list stars in high-stakes games of crime and deceit.
On Prime Video, Black Bag is a sophisticated spy thriller. Michael Fassbender stars as an MI6 agent given the difficult task of investigating suspected traitors within his own agency. The mission becomes a personal nightmare when his wife, played by Cate Blanchett, is named as a primary suspect.
On Netflix, Havoc provides a grittier, street-level alternative. Tom Hardy stars as a hardened detective who must plunge into the criminal underworld to find a politician’s missing son after a drug deal goes wrong. The case forces him to confront his own dark past and connections.
While these two films offer incredible crime and spy drama, the platforms have other thrills as well. You can watch the apocalyptic Bird Box (Netflix), the claustrophobic 10 Cloverfield Lane (Prime Video), or the high-action Interceptor (Netflix).
For more psychological suspense, don’t miss the unique and unsettling Saltburn (Prime Video) or the chilling tale of obsession, The Occupant (Netflix).
